Makeup Tips
Today's women are busy! There are careers, educations, kids, activities, friends, households, and more all competing for part of the twenty-four hour day. Thankfully a makeup and beauty routine does not have to be a time hog if you follow some simple and breezy makeup tips that will have you looking naturally beautiful and out the door in five minutes.
Start Out With A Clean Face
Not having a clean palette can cause your makeup to look oily, your skin to break out, and can have your makeup wearing off faster than it normally would. Wash your face in warm water to clean your pores, followed by cold water to shrink your pores. You are now ready to apply your makeup.
Go For The Natural Look
Unless you're a model with plans to walk the runway later in the day, try to stick with makeup that looks natural. When it comes to eye makeup, lipstick, blush, and all of your other makeup options, less really is more. By using less you will look more natural, you will save time as you will spend less time applying your makeup, and you will save money by cutting out the extras (or saving your favorite stunning and expensive eye shadows for special occasions). When you're in a big rush, apply your foundation, go for a coat of clear lip gloss on your lips, a quick application of mascara to make your lashes stand out, and you are good to go with a fresh face.
Make Sure to Actually Keep It Natural
A great makeup tip is to start with a foundation that matches your skin tone. People can tell when you are trying to look darker, as your neck skin tone doesn't match your face. Picking a shade lighter than your skin will also look a bit odd. Also, your daytime look should aim to be professional. Dark makeup colors are often best reserved for evening.
Make Do!
Do you spend a lot of time looking for your makeup sponge? Did you lose the little makeup brush that came with your eye shadow? Don't panic, you can make do! A cotton ball can be used to apply foundation or blush, and a Q-tip works great when applying eye shadow. In the future you may want to keep all of your daily makeup items together in a basket or makeup bag so that you won't spend so much time looking for what you're missing.
